Automatic blockage system
This refers to a system used to regulate and guarantee a
safe distance between trains and to complete itineraries.
It is in place all on the general tracks in the network.
Automatic train-protection system (ATP)
This system automatically stops trains in circulation from
passing signals or reaching unsafe speeds.
Train-stop
This system automatically brakes any train that passes a
stop signal. It works by allowing communication between points
on the track (beacons) and the train. This system is currently
installed on line 4 only.
Cesares System (centralisation of anti-signal passing
system)
This system sets off the brakes in any train that passes
a stop signal and associates station systems with particular
points on the tracks. It works by allowing a track element
(beacon) to communicate with the train, and in this case provides
centralised supervision of all the beacons. It also allows
for the automatic localisation from the train of the existence
and position of beacons and, as there are complementary speed
beacons installed at particular points along the route, it
stops the train from either exceeding the maximum established
speed or from stopping. This system is currently installed
on lines 1, 3 and 5 and is being introduced on line 2
