The world's finest collection of Romanesque art

The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is one of Catalonia's foremost museums, and takes you on an uninterrupted journey through almost one thousand years of art. Here you can see the most sumptuous collections of medieval art (Romanesque and Gothic). The museum's holdings of Renaissance and baroque art include, among others, the Thyssen Bornemisza Collection. Other highlights include works from the Catalan art nouveau movement - modernisme - and the sculptural avant-garde; the museum has a photography collection and you can also learn about the history of coins. Near the MNAC is the Museu Etnològic which will take you on a journey to the world's different cultures.
