Full-scale recreation of traditional architecture

The International Exhibition held in Barcelona in 1929, left
Montjuïc hill with a major legacy. Dating from the same year,
the Poble Espanyol (Spanish Village) invites you to walk through
the streets and squares of a real village, which showcases Spain's
wealth of architectural styles. However, the Poble Espanyol is more
than just an array of architecture: it is home to over 40 craft
workshops where you can see artisans at work and purchase their
unique wares afterwards. You can walk through the Sculpture Garden,
from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city, and visit the
Fundació Fran Daurel with its collection of contemporary
artworks by Picasso, Miró, Tàpies, Barceló and
others. The wide range of shops and restaurants provides an
additional excuse for visiting this unique attraction. |
